Juliana Playter
Founder, Echoes of Innocence
I didn’t set out to start a movement. I set out to protect what I love.
My daughter, Millicent, is my miracle. She came to me when I needed light the most—proof that grace exists even in a broken world. She is not only my heart—she is my reason. Everything I do begins and ends with her.
When I hold her hand, I think of every child who never made it home. Every child whose trust was shattered in the place they were supposed to be safest. Every child silenced by systems that call themselves civilized.
Echoes of Innocence was born from those children. From the ones we failed to hear.
This is not a charity. This is a reckoning.
In Canada, the truth hides in plain sight.
It’s buried with the remains of Indigenous children at residential schools.
It’s protected by clergy in sacred robes.
It’s whispered in hockey rinks and sports clubs.
It’s masked behind white coats and medical degrees.
It’s justified in family homes under the word “discipline.”
And stories twisted into contracts, glamour, and silence—in Hollywood and among the elite, where innocence is currency exploitation is polished and predators wear power like perfume.
And still, we ask why survivors wait to speak.
I’ve listened to their stories—some whispered, some screamed, some locked behind tearless eyes. I’ve carried them with me because someone has to.
We are not just raising awareness—we are raising alarm. We are building armour. We are tearing down silence. We are rewriting what justice looks like.
Millicent inspires this fight. She reminds me of what every child deserves: safety, freedom, and the chance to grow up unbroken. If she is a miracle, then so are they—and we cannot abandon our miracles to monsters.
If this breaks your heart, good. That means it’s working.
I’m not afraid of darkness. I’m afraid of what happens when good people pretend it’s not there.
This is sacred work. This is my stand. My soul’s work. And I am asking you—from the marrow of my being—to join me.
For Millicent.
For every stolen childhood.
For a world that chooses justice, even when it hurts.
With my utmost love and full intent to protect the children,
Juliana Playter
